TERESA THOMPSON-PINCKNEY, Ed.D.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Teresa Thompson-Pinckney is the Chief Executive Officer and lead consultant at Vision Shift Catalyst, LLC. where she serves as a thought partner to educational administrators in leading transformative change and innovation while promoting equitable access and student success in higher education.
She is a recently retired higher education administrator where she served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Enrollment Management. Her final achievement comprised of designing and leading the development and implementation of an innovative model for integrated student services which significantly contributed to increasing enrollment and retention rates. During her tenure in higher education, she provided oversight of operations related to student success services (One Stop, Advising Center, Tutoring Services, Testing Services, TRIO Programs, College Access Programs) and enrollment management (financial aid, registrar, veteran services, call center). She is a TRIO alumnae, TRIO priority trainer, and has served as a director of multiple TRIO programs to include Student Support Services, Student Support Service STEM, Talent Search, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math & Science and GEAR UP.
Dr. Thompson-Pinckney has secured federal, state, and foundation grant awards totaling over $44 million with a 90% success rate. Her life work is grounded in addressing equity and improving student outcomes for Black, Latino, and Indigenous students, poverty-impacted students, and first-generation students.
Dr. Thompson-Pinckney was born in Lubbock Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice (University of Texas at Arlington), Masters of Art Degree in Sociology (Fayetteville State University), and Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership (Fayetteville State University). In addition, she is a Prosci Certified Change Practioner and has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University, where she also served as an instructor for over 15 years.
Dr. Thompson-Pinckney is the wife of SFC Pinckney (Retired) and has two children, Imani and Jerome II.
